Dear Baby Ethan,
I had my first cranky night in the hospital. You were just fine. But, the doctors apparently had an order in to have my blood pressure checked every 3 hours. Low blood pressure can be a concern while I am taking nifedipine. The first night they waited and checked my blood pressure when they gave me another dose of nifedipine at 3 am. That was just fine. However, last night I was not able to get to sleep until 10. Then a CNA came in around 11:45 and took my blood pressure, she had to turn ALL of my lights on for some reason and wanted to talk about how it might lightning outside. Then a nurse came in around 3 am and gave me the nifedipine. She did not take my blood pressure, I thought about asking her if we needed to. But, she left quickly and I fell back asleep. Then the CNA came in AGAIN about 30 minutes later, just when I was getting back to sleep. I asked her why the nurse hadn't taken it if we needed to do the blood pressure, she said she didn't know. I asked the nurse about this whens he came in around 5:30, she apologized and said the CNA had not asked her before coming in. I hate to be crabby, but it is hard for me to get back to sleep in general, let alone with so many interruptions!
I talked to my doctors and they are fine with my blood pressure being checked every 6 hours, especially at night. They did a trans-vaginal ultrasound. It sounds like you are breach with your head up again. I forgot to ask how much you weigh now. I never got to confirm where the placenta is. the cervical length is still 4 so that is good. It sounded like it is still a complete previa at this point. But, we should know more tomorrow.
Your daddy has his last acupuncture treatment tonight. So, he and Rose had a shorter visit of just an hour likely from 7:30 to 8:30.
So far we have spent 28 days in the hospital. I'm so excited that we are on the home stretch, less than a month until we meet you!
Upcoming Events.
Saturday, August 15th, is the 6 year anniversary for your daddy and I! We got married August 15, 2009 in Kansas City. I feel so lucky and blessed to have a good husband that is so low maintenance. We will likely be celebrating on Friday night with some Chipolte.
Your Ummichi will be here Friday August 21st for baby Anna Beth's baptism. She will be here for a bit to help take care of Anna and Rose. That is just 4 weeks from today, when you will be 34 weeks along and in even better shape to be born.
We will likely get to see how your growth is going on August 31st, and potentially sooner to see if the placenta is still in the way.
Your birthday will likely be September 8th! Just 28 days!
Love you,
Mommy
