Dear Baby Ethan,
I had a nice visit with Deacon Michael today. I am so thankful I am still able to receive the body of Christ. I still miss being able to attend mass. It's just not the same as being there in person. I don't quite feel the presence of all of the angels and saints as I do during mass. Even being in the actual sanctuary is important to me. It has been hard being outside, while Rose is learning to be quiet and sit during mass.
I was excited to learn from Deacon Michael that there will be another bible study at church starting in January. I will have to try and make that happen. They will be studying Luke.
I also heard yesterday that a friend of mine lost his job. I am praying for their family that he finds a job that is a better fit.
It sounds like we may do another trans-vaginal exam next week to confirm whether the placenta is still covering the opening to my cervix. The high risk people feel it is very low risk, and it is always helpful to have more information. If the placenta has moved out of the way, we get to go home! And, you will be able to grow a bit longer!
We will also have another growth ultrasound on the 31st. They will be checking to make sure you still 50-60%. If your growth slows quite a bit they would consider taking you out of me sooner. We will be praying you are growing well!
I had to get a new IV in today. I had the same IV since my admission July 20th. 18 nights is not bad for an IV. My original IV had been working, but they are afraid it wouldn’t work if they had to start putting a lot of fluids into it if I had a serious issue. I hate IVs. They missed one vein, but the second try worked. I am hoping this one will last awhile also.
It was nice seeing your dad and Rose tonight. We wandered around the garden area a bit.
So far we have been in the hospital 23 nights, since July 20th.
Upcoming Events
Your Noni and Grandpa may come to visit this weekend. They have been quite busy watching your cousins lately.
August 15th is the 6 year anniversary for your daddy and I! We got married August 15, 2009 in Kansas City. I feel so lucky and blessed to have a good husband that is so low maintenance.
Your Ummichi will be here Friday August 21st for baby Anna Beth's baptism. She will be here for a bit to help take care of Anna and Rose. That is just 4 weeks from today, when you will be 34 weeks along and in even better shape to be born.
We will likely get to see how your growth is going on September 3rd, and potentially sooner to see if the placenta is still in the way.
Your birthday will likely be September 8th! Just 32 days!
Love you,
Mommy
