Dear Baby Ethan,
Unfortunately we had another issue this morning. Around 4 am I felt some liquid coming out of me. It initially looked like water, with a slight blood tinge to it. It continued off and on for most of the morning. By the afternoon it just looked like some spotting. Around 7 am they did a swab test to see if it was amniotic fluid. That test came back negative, but it was certainly watery blood. Not just blood. So, Dr. Bonebrake did a scan to check the fluid levels around 8:30. The fluid levels were great. You were monitored for several hours and were doing well. He indicated at that point that I could eat and drink again around 10:30. So, they did not anticipate delivery!
You were moving quite a bit, so it was a struggle to keep you on the monitor. You can be a wild guy! You had the hiccups for a bit.
I will be taking Nifedipine every six hours or so for the next few days. I am still not 100% clear on the plan going forward, if they will be adjusting our C-Section date at all. I am hoping Dr. Guthmann my OBGYN will be coming by today so she can let me know.
Noni and Rose came by in the afternoon.
Upcoming Events
I am not sure if we will still be doing another trans-vaginal exam next week to confirm whether the placenta is still covering the opening to my cervix, given the water/bleeding issue. The high risk people feel it is very low risk, and it is always helpful to have more information. If the placenta has moved out of the way, we get to go home! And, you will be able to grow a bit longer!
Next Saturday, August 15th, is the 6 year anniversary for your daddy and I! We got married August 15, 2009 in Kansas City. I feel so lucky and blessed to have a good husband that is so low maintenance.
Your Ummichi and Uppuchen will be here Friday August 21st for baby Anna Beth's baptism. She will be here for a bit to help take care of Anna and Rose. That is just 4 weeks from today, when you will be 34 weeks along and in even better shape to be born.
We will likely get to see how your growth is going on August 31st, and potentially sooner to see if the placenta is still in the way.
Your birthday will likely be September 8th! Just 30 days!
Love you,
Mommy
