Dear Baby Ethan,
Your grandma turns 55 today!
We had your scan today! You weighed 4 pounds. You are allegedly in the 55th percentile. Based on this (http://www.babycenter.com/average-fetal-length-weight-chart) growth chart, you seem to be more in line with the average for 32-33 weeks. It sounds like the placenta is quite likely still in the way based on the view they could get. My OBGYN thinks it is best to wait a few weeks, then we might do a trans vaginal ultrasound to confirm that the placenta is still in the way.
On July 6th you were in the 50th, so your growth has picked up a little. In our last scan on July 6th you weighed 2 pounds 6 ounces. Your head is down, and your feet are by my ribs. I'm glad you're in the right position. You also have hair on your head!
We will have another scan in about a month on September 3rd, or perhaps in a couple of weeks to confirm whether the placenta is still in the way.
So far we have been in the hospital 18 nights.
Rose and your daddy came by for a quick visit. The french toast here is very good, so we enjoyed that. Rose had some yogurt and a bit of my tuna fish sandwich. Then we got Rose ready for bed and they headed home!

I have been reading the book "The Ear of the Heart" about a famous actress from the 60s that decided to go into a Benedictine monastery called Regina Laudis (Which means Queen of Praise, for our Lady Mother Mary, who was the Queen of praising God in all she did). The monastery is in Connecticut. I really hope love of Got and your Catholic faith will be a support and guide to you as it has been for me.
Upcoming Events
We will likely get to see how your growth is going on September 3rd, and potentially sooner to see if the placenta is still in the way.
August 15th is the 6 year anniversary for your daddy and I! We got married August 15, 2009 in Kansas City. I feel so lucky and blessed to have a good husband that is so low maintenance.
Your Ummichi will be here Friday August 21st for baby Anna Beth's baptism. She will be here for a bit to help take care of Anna and Rose. That is just 4 weeks from today, when you will be 34 weeks along and in even better shape to be born.
Your birthday will likely be September 8th! Just 36 days!
Love you,
Mommy
